Lighting All-Stars started the season on the right foot, with a good victory over PK Ice Squids, 5-4.
PK got a fluke goal in the first minute, but Mateo equalized with seven minutes gone in the 20-minute first half. Then with three minutes left, rookie 2nd-grader Jeremy put in a nice shot and the half ended with Lightning up 2-1.
PK equalized at the beginning of the second half, but Mateo struck right back with three goals in a four-minute span to make it 5-2. PK made it tight with two goals to make it 5-4, Lightning, with five minutes left. The boys played great defense to hold on to the victory.
Great work from the defense as usual, and Dylan made several excellent saves in goal.
